What is Diastatis Recti?

Diastatis Recti (DR) is the abnormal abdominal tension which cause the left and right sides of your rectus abdominus to pull away from your linea alba. It is common during pregnancy but anyone can get a DR – women who aren’t pregnant, men, and even babies. It is not about how strong you are through the core or the appearance of your abdominal muscles.

What causes the tension?

It is not exactly a straightforward answer but internal pressure creates abdominal weakness. Everything you do – the way you stand, the loads you create, things that create a right to left pull and any tension your carry in your waist create internal pressure. In this class you will learn how to create forces to release and undo the tension.
